  • ​Ministry of Education launches new website

    The Minister for Education, Mrs. Macsuzy Mondon, officially launched the Ministry of Education website on Friday 20th November 2015 during a short ceremony at the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE).


    The ceremony was attended by the Principal Secretary for Early Childhood Primary & Secondary Education, Mrs Merida Delcy, the Principal Secretary for Tertiary Education, Policy Planning & Administration, Dr. Linda Barallon, the Principal Secretary for Social Affairs, Mrs. Linda William-Melanie, School Councils Chairpersons, CEO for Tertiary Education Commission, Mr. Jean-Michel Domingue, Officers from the Ministry of Education, Heads of Professional Centres, head teachers, teachers and students. 


    In her speech to mark the ocassion the Principal Secretary, Dr. Linda Barallon, expressed the appreciation of the Ministry of Education for the hard work and dedication that the teams have put into designing the website.  She also commended the excellent collaboration and partnership that have contributed to the achievement of the website.


    The website was designed in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands & French Pacific (IOIFP) and Formation Recrutement et Conseil Informatique (FRCI) in Mauritius.

    In February 2015 a one week workshop was conducted in collaboration with Microsoft Indian Ocean Islands & French Pacific (IOIFP) on the use of SharePoint as a platform to create websites.  The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Akthar Dilmohamud from FRCI who had been contracted by Microsoft IOIFP.  The workshop was attended by Ministry of Education officials and educators with the purpose of giving them a hands-on experience of using SharePoint to design the Ministry’s website and be able to manage the content on the website in future. 

    The Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DICT) has been working closely with the technicians from the Ministry of Education and FRCI in designing and setting up the required infrastructure.  The Ministry of Education website is being hosted by the Department of ICT.  Teachers, parents, students and members of the public in general can now access the new website at

    Mr. Akthar Dilmohamud and Mr. Hermant Bulleeray, from FRCI-Mauritius arrived in Seychelles on Sunday 15th November to facilitate a final session with the officers at the Ministry of Education who will be responsible for managing the website.
