The Ministry of Education welcomed its employees at Headquarters to the first day of work, with a special lunch on the 4th January 2016, instead of the usual end of year party. As part of the afternoon ceremony, was the address of the Minister of Education, Mrs. Macsuzy Mondon.
In her address, she acknowledged that2015 was a challenging year for most of us, especially those who were directly involved in the implementation of The Ministry's Medium Term Strategy (MTS). In spite of those challenges, we managed to achieve our objectives and we ought to be proud of our achievements.
She also pointed out that there is still room for improvement in certain areas, and that we should not be complacent. She reminded us of the national call for all ministries to carry outan audit exercise. As for the Ministry of Education, such exercise has already started at the level of the Divisions and the agencies. Sheappealed to all to participate actively in the audit in their respective Divisions so that we can be part of the solutions and help make a difference in our Ministry.
Minister Mondonurged each member of staff to assess one's performance and contributions, identify areas of weaknesses and make a special effort to improve.
We need to sustain the progress made and embrace 2016 with a new mindset. Expectations are high and we need to work together, support each other to meet the needs of our clients through offering better service at all levels.
The Minister expressed her appreciation to all the members of staff for their hard work during 2015 and wished them and their family good health, prosperity and success for 2016.
