CRITERIA FOR PRE-SERVICE SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are granted to post-secondary graduates on a point system in respect to their results in 3 ‘A’ Level subjects. Their behaviour and participation in activities are also taken into account.
The maximum points for academic performance is 30, and the minimum is18. The maximum points for behaviour and participation is 15, and the minimum is 10.

Students must obtain a minimum of 18 points for academic performance in 3 ‘A’ Level subjects, 10 points for behaviour and 10 points for participation to be eligible for a scholarship. They must also be Seychellois nationals.
Students following their studies in the Technical and Business Programme Areas of the Seychelles Polytechnic are also eligible for scholarships. Because of the different nature of these courses, the point system applied for academic students cannot be used. Detailed below are the salient factors that are considered for these students.
Technical Studies Programme Area
- Possession of City and Guilds Advanced Diploma in:
. Construction Industry
. Electrical and Electronics
. Mechanical Engineering
. Motor Vehicle Engineering
. Telecommunication and Electronics
- Must obtain 12 points based on the following grading system:
D (Distinction) = 3
C (Credit) = 2
P (Pass) = 1
F (Fail) = 0
- Must have gone through Technical Studies as regular, full-time students immediately before they entered onto the Advanced diploma.
The point system for behaviour and extra-curricular activities is the same as for academic students.
Business and Secretarial Programme Areas
- Possession of Advanced Diploma in Business Studies and Accounting
- Must pass all internal exams at the end of the year
- Marks averaged for the seven subjects internally examined must equal 65% (Credit) or above
- Must have obtained the AAT Technician Certificate
The point system for behaviour and extra-curricular activities is the same as for academic students.
